This is an exciting opportunity to join our Administration Team at Aspen Wood Low Secure Unit.
Position: Finance Assistant
This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The role requires on-site work to support inpatient clinical and financial services.
The post holder will:
1. Record, account for, and monitor all income received and issued.
2. Maintain petty cash and provide a cashiering service to the Secure Care Division across Aspen Wood and Rowan View.
3. Ensure the timely processing of financial information in accordance with procedures.
4. Maintain high standards of service to inpatient clinical services.
5. Process Service User / Patients' financial transactions efficiently and within strict guidelines.
6. Receipt and record all money received for patients and inform Patients Cash to ensure patient accounts are credited.
7. Ensure all income is coded according to the Manual of Accounts.
8. Prepare cash and documentation for patient rehabilitation trips, ensuring cash is deposited in advance.
9. Obtain appropriate authorisation for reimbursement requests from the Line Manager and Financial Controller.
10. Verify identity before handing over cash or documents, noting identification on departmental records.
11. Complete transactions at banks, building societies, and post offices on behalf of patients.
12. Assist with procedure notes, audit recommendations, and development of cash and income functions, maintaining confidentiality and data security.
13. Observe Standing Financial Instructions, Standing Orders, and Financial Policies and Procedures.
14. Report anomalies to Patients Cash and Benefits Supervisor.
15. Maintain records of petty cash imprests and conduct monthly checks on staff canteen floats.
