Job Description:
The Deal Execution team is part of KPMG’s rapidly expanding Strategy Group, which delivers value for clients by challenging conventional thinking, bringing deep industry and functional insights and executing with investor-grade rigour. We are a diverse team of over 105 practitioners, working collaboratively with and orchestrating KPMG’s broad set of capabilities within our Advisory business, and are focused on continually enhancing value for clients across the deal and economic cycle. Our teams comprise specialists capable of helping clients from conceptual thinking of buying a business to turning their business around in times of difficulty.
The People in M&A Centre of Excellence handle all aspects of the employee journey in M&A, leveraging experience to enact transformational change outside of deals. From early-stage strategy development and organisational design for carve-outs, to synergy cases, employee experience, corporate culture, employee transfer, and developing effective transformational solutions, we aim to help organizations achieve their ambitions while ensuring smooth people transitions.
The Manager role is central to the team, leading project delivery alongside senior leaders, with opportunities to specialize across sectors. Our four key client proposition areas are:
* Employee experience: Executing engagement programs to address impacts on employees, ensuring they would choose to join the company independently of the deal.
* Organisational strategy development: Designing organisation structures, people strategies, operating models, and value enhancements for carve-outs or standalone operations.
* Labour relations and compliance: Managing HR and labour risks globally to meet deal timelines and integration plans.
* HR operations: Delivering HR services efficiently during and after deals, maintaining high service levels.
Role Overview
In this role, you will lead projects, working closely with senior team members, gaining deal knowledge, and developing your skills in HR, OD, and strategy. You will also apply your change and consulting skills to deliver transformational change outside of deal contexts.
Your responsibilities include:
* Leading small to medium engagements and supporting clients daily
* Due Diligence: Contributing to reports, analyzing data, providing insights on people issues, and developing benchmarks
* Integration & Separation: Advising on people and organisational design during integrations and separations, leading workstreams, facilitating workshops, and reviewing organisational design
* Transformational Change: Supporting clients in transformational projects, designing roadmaps, managing risks, and defining success metrics
* Wider Responsibilities: Engaging with stakeholders, coaching teams, ensuring quality, and supporting business development
Leadership & Management
The Manager supports mentoring and development, challenges the team to innovate, ensures value-driven outcomes, and contributes to proposals and market initiatives.
Stakeholder Interaction & Challenges
Demonstrate credibility, act as a project lead, manage client expectations, and ensure high-quality deliverables. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through technology.
The Person
Work experience in HR, OD, or Strategy, preferably in M&A. Experience in M&A projects, consultation, and people specialties is beneficial. Skills in leading meetings, managing teams, developing pitches, and influencing senior stakeholders are required. Curiosity, innovation, and continuous improvement are valued.
Professional qualifications, excellent communication, problem-solving, structured thinking, and market understanding are essential.
