Our client is looking for a Head of Technical Pricing to lead strategy, drive team motivation and assist in transformational change.
This is a senior role combining strategic oversight, technical expertise, and team leadership, with significant influence across the business.
The successful candidate will take ownership of the pricing strategy, ensuring that models and frameworks are robust, commercially effective, and aligned with regulatory requirements. You will lead a team of pricing analysts, drive model development and optimisation, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed best-in-class pricing practices across the business.
Key Responsibilities
* Shape and execute pricing strategy, balancing commercial goals with technical rigor.
* Oversee the development, validation, and refinement of pricing, optimisation, and market models.
* Monitor model performance and support agile updates to pricing assumptions when needed.
* Ensure pricing decisions uphold fair value and regulatory standards.
* Lead and mentor a high-performing team, building analytical, actuarial, and data science skills.
* Partner with senior stakeholders in Distribution, Propositions, Finance, and Compliance to translate analytics into actionable insights.
What We're Looking For:
* Extensive experience in retail insurance pricing and statistical modelling, including GLMs and machine learning (GBMs).
* Hands-on experience with Radar or equivalent pricing platforms.
* Proven leadership experience, with the ability to inspire and develop teams while influencing senior stakeholders.
* Strong commercial acumen and understanding of regulatory obligations.
* Actuarial qualification or significant progress toward one preferred.
* Analytical, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to convert data into business impact.
