Operating across the Automotive, Commercial, Education, Healthcare, and Residential sectors, they provide a complete service from early feasibility and pre-construction strategy through to delivery and aftercare.
Due to continued growth, they are seeking a talented Senior Pre-Construction Manager to lead and strengthen their pre-construction function.
The Role
The Senior Pre-Construction Manager will take ownership of the early project lifecycle and lead a small, high-performing team of two Estimators. This is a pivotal role responsible for managing the pre-construction process from initial enquiry to contract award, ensuring all bids are commercially robust, technically sound, and aligned with client expectations.
The successful candidate will work closely with clients, consultants, and internal teams to shape project strategy, build winning proposals, and ensure a seamless handover to delivery teams.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the full pre-construction and tender process across multiple projects.
* Manage, support, and develop a team of two Estimators, ensuring high standards of accuracy and consistency.
* Oversee tender reviews, value engineering initiatives, and buildability assessments.
* Coordinate input from design, commercial, and delivery teams to produce compelling bid submissions.
* Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents to identify risks, opportunities, and strategic approaches.
* Prepare and deliver presentations and bid interviews to clients and stakeholders.
* Ensure tenders are submitted on time and to a high standard, with clear methodology, programme, and commercial clarity.
* Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners.
* Drive continuous improvement across pre-construction processes, methodologies, and tools.
About You
* Extensive experience in pre-construction management within a main contracting environment.
* Strong understanding of construction methodology, planning, and commercial principles.
* Proven leadership experience, ideally managing estimators or pre-construction staff.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills.
* Ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously with accuracy and composure.
* Collaborative approach with a proactive, solution-focused mindset.
* Strong commercial acumen and attention to detail.
