Summary of the role
We are currently recruiting for one fixed term position to start on the 22/09/2025 through to 24/12/2025.
IT Services is a key enabler for vision and is key to delivering the University's Values and its world class reputation. The IT & Digital strategy will support the growing ambitions for education, research and professional services, and exploiting the opportunities from changing technology will enable the University to thrive in an increasingly digital environment.

The role
The post holder will be part of a customer focused team of technicians providing excellent IT support services to users to make the best use of the IT facilities at their disposal. This role will primarily be providing IT support at the University’s Exeter Campuses. Reporting to a Desktop Support Team Leader, you will have a central role in the support of IT services and you will work closely with other members of the team; and will support colleagues from other teams within the university.
The role will be required to work a 36.5 hour week over 5 days, flexing shifts to cover an 0800-1800 support window. You will be required to undertake additional hours and weekend support for bookings and events. Additionally, if working patterns need to flex in the future to meet university changing demands, this post would be automatically slotted into any new flexible working pattern required to support the service.
The ideal candidate will have good IT support skills and must be willing to learn and develop themselves in this area. Just as important as technical ability and excellent troubleshooting is a positive attitude and excellent teamwork ethos. Candidates must be able to demonstrate attitude towards professional customer service with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will have a flexible and adaptable approach with the ability to be self-motivated and show initiative.
