£25-£30 per hour | Flexible days and times | Care Home-based sessions
We are seeking a calm, patient and resilient Tutor/Mentor to support a 16‑year‑old young person who has not been in education since July 2025. She requires a nurturing, relationship‑focused adult who can help her rebuild confidence, re-engage with learning, and develop emotional‑regulation skills.
About the Role
You will deliver 1:1 sessions in the young person's home, using a gentle and trauma-informed approach to help her participate even when initially reluctant. The role is highly relational and will involve creating personalised, achievable learning tasks that support her confidence, communication and emotional wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
Provide engaging, structured learning tailored to her interests and needs.
Use a nurturing, consistent approach to support emotional regulation and self-esteem.
Encourage positive engagement and help her remain in sessions for their duration.
Work collaboratively with carers and professionals to ensure consistency.
Essential Requirements
Minimum 6 months' experience within a UK education setting.
Experience supporting children with emotional, behavioural or SEMH needs.
Desirable
Experience re-engaging young people who are out of school or refusing education.
