About the Role
We are recruiting a Community Arts Officer to join the team at Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council. The post holder will be responsible for developing a proactive programme of community arts events, training, activities, and festivals to enhance community access to the arts and promote long-term active participation through community outreach targeting all sections of the community.
The post holder will undertake duties assigned by the Arts Service Manager and participate in duty rotations to cover staff breaks, sickness, leave, and vacancies. They will also act as a Duty Officer as required.
Key Responsibilities
* A third-level qualification (e.g., HND, HNC, NVQ Level 4, or Degree) in a recognized arts field such as Theatre/Media Studies or Art and Design.
* At least three years of employment experience in arts/cultural activities, including:
* Organisation and promotion of local events
* Experience applying for, managing, and monitoring external grants or sponsorships
* Experience managing delegated budgets
* Possession of a full, clean driving license and access to a car or transportation that enables duties to be carried out. *This applies only to applicants who have a disability under the Disability Discrimination Act.*
Alternatively, applicants without the specified qualification must demonstrate a minimum of six years' relevant experience as outlined above.
* Experience managing grant-funded programmes through European Programmes for Peace and Reconciliation or similar funding bodies
* Experience working with community-based organizations
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages, including Excel
