A great opportunity has arisen for a Continuous / Process ImprovementEngineer to drive continuous improvement across engineering, production, and after-sales operations at a bespoke manufacturing site.
Key Responsibilities
* Apply Lean, Kaizen, or Six Sigma methodologies to identify and eliminate inefficiencies across the business.
* Lead Continuous Improvement (CI) projects to optimise workflow, productivity, and product quality in line with operational KPIs.
* Collect, review, and interpret data on output, efficiency, warranty performance, and cost metrics to support strategic decision-making.
* Design, implement, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency, compliance, and safety.
* Work collaboratively with Engineering, Production, and After-Sales teams to identify process issues and develop effective technical resolutions.
* Review and interpret engineering drawings, build specifications, and compliance documentation to ensure build accuracy and adherence to standards.
* Investigate warranty claims, understanding warranty coverage, cost implications, and root causes to support efficient resolution and customer satisfaction.
* Collate and analyse supplier quality and manage cost recovery.
* Provide technical support for HGV-related warranty investigations, including diagnosis of mechanical, electrical, and structural issues.
* Identify recurring warranty trends and implement preventive and corrective actions to reduce rework, downtime, and claim frequency.
* Support training and knowledge sharing across departments to embed a Continuous Improvement culture.
* Lead compliance in quality and type approval legislation, supporting process development and type approval document processing.
Beneficial Skills / Qualifications
* Strong understanding of automotive or electro-mechanical systems i.e. hydraulics, and electrical components.
* Knowledge of warranty processes – coverage, claims, cost drivers, and resolution workflows.
* Experience in Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement (CI) methodologies.
* Proficiency in technical drawing interpretation and compliance documentation.
* Skilled in data analysis, KPI tracking, and performance monitoring.
* Ability to develop and implement SOPs and process documentation.
* Competent in problem-solving, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning.
* Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
* Degree or HND in Mechanical / Automotive / Manufacturing Engineering (or similar discipline).
* Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent CI certification.
* Previous experience within HGV manufacturing, vehicle conversion, or after-sales warranty environments.
* Familiarity with SolidWorks, production systems, or process analytics tools.
* Proven ability to link technical warranty findings to upstream process improvements.
