We have been appointed to major regulated water frameworks across the UK & Ireland, including United Utilities, Yorkshire Water, Northumbrian Water, and more. This allows us to drive innovation and excellence, providing a wide range of challenging projects for our teams to engage with and deliver real impact.
In this role you will be a Senior / Principal Hydraulic Engineer, working across water, wastewater, energy & infrastructure portfolios. You will collaborate with a supportive team on major capital investment programmes, providing solutions to complex hydraulic challenges for our clients.
Responsibilities
* Lead technical input for projects involving hydraulic structures and systems, including studies, analyses, designs, reports, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
* Contribute to steady‑state, rapid, and long‑term transient hydraulic studies.
* Build industry relationships and foster a strong Stantec fluid mechanics community.
* Utilize relevant software for client solutions.
* Maintain technical expertise through CPD.
About You
We are interested in candidates who hold a degree in a relevant subject (or equivalent) and have experience in the UK water industry. Demonstrable knowledge/experience in hydraulic engineering/fluid mechanics, including familiarity with hydraulic analysis software such as Hades, Varism, or Flow 3D, is required. Experience reviewing technical content and mentoring junior staff is essential.
