Requirements
You will have an SVQ2 or be willing to undertake an SVQ2 assessment to achieve the award.
Responsibilities
You will assist in providing a 24-hour response service for vulnerable older people, people with physical disabilities, mental illness, or learning disabilities, whose independence in the community is supported by an alarm call system. You will provide a locally based mobile service to Sheltered Housing tenants when full-time Wardens are off duty.
The Individual
You will have past or present caring experience to a high standard, either through life or work, and possess good written and oral communication skills. You should be able to work as part of a team, independently, and use your own initiative. You will have assessment skills and be able to understand and meet the needs of community residents. Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and nights, is required. A full, current driving licence is also necessary. This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to employment with Dundee City Council.
