This role is a great opportunity to start your career in healthcare. The Medical Administrator Apprentice will work in a busy GP practice and will be enrolled on the business administration apprenticeship level 3 with a clinical coding overlay with PMA Ltd. You will be exposed to differing aspects of key roles within a welcoming team and will gain valuable insight into the diverse elements of a busy environment.
You will need to demonstrate good customer service skills, both face to face and over the telephone, and good keyboard skills and the ability to use Microsoft Office applications as well as other systems used within the NHS.
Responsibilities
* Being on the reception desk.
* Answering telephone calls and dealing with patient or management queries.
* Taking messages appropriately for the clinical teams and/or management team
* Following internal processes and procedures.
* Signposting to appropriate Service or Person.
* Registering New Patients.
* Recalling patients for appointments.
* Sorting Medical Notes - when required add non-medical information to medical records.
* Responding to emails.
* Coding Clinical Letter
* Scanning/filing letters.
* Inputting data into the IT systems/patient database.
* ***the list is not exhaustive, any other duties required for the business needs and agreed with the Practice Manager or GP Partners.
Training:
* Business Admin Level 3 Apprenticeship provided by PMA Ltd.
* The practice will cover In house training of core duties.
* Online mandatory training.
Hours
30 hours per week - Monday to Friday - 10am-4pm.
Salary
£8.50 per hour.
