Hours: 21 hours per week (0.6 FTE)
Location: 29-31 Montgomery Street, Belfast
Campaign Service/Cause: Volunteering
Remuneration: £25,476 - £27,919 Pro-rata
Overall Purpose of Post: The Volunteer Engagement Co-ordinator is responsible for volunteer retention and coordination across the organisation. The role ensures adherence to data management strategies, effective monitoring, evaluation, and learning processes. The postholder facilitates volunteer recruitment, induction, and support to meet organisational needs, and contributes to service development, promoting good practices in service delivery, evaluation, and quality assurance, working closely with Service Leads & SMT.
Key Responsibilities:
* Volunteer Co-ordination: Develop and refine volunteer recruitment strategies, oversee the volunteer database, maintain inventory of needs, process Access NI checks, update role descriptions, organise training, develop new initiatives, promote the service, liaise with external agencies, promote volunteer retention, communicate with volunteers, monitor activities, and stay updated on best practices.
* Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning: Develop and support monitoring and evaluation processes, assess outcomes, develop case studies, coordinate satisfaction surveys, and ensure evaluations align with funding requirements.
* Quality Assurance and Development: Support policy reviews, maintain standards, promote diversity and inclusivity, and ensure compliance with legislation and best practices.
* Data and Information Management: Follow reporting mechanisms, gather evidence, analyze statistics, ensure GDPR compliance, and support data-driven decision-making.
* External Relationships: Build stakeholder relationships, attend external meetings, develop partnerships, and promote the organisation’s work.
Person Specification:
Essential: Experience in delivering training and organising events, managing people or volunteers; GCSE English and Maths; excellent communication skills; self-management; organisational and negotiation skills; IT proficiency; teamwork and independence; adaptable; empathetic; committed to values; valid driving license and transport.
Desirable: Experience in health and social care, community engagement, volunteer involvement, and relevant qualifications (training and management).
