We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Elmbridge to assist with the appointment of a Green Spaces Officer, on a 4.5-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £21.97 - £28.98 per hour
Summary:
The Green Spaces Officer will play a key role in ensuring Elmbridges parks and green spaces are safe, welcoming, and well maintained for residents and visitors. You will manage the grounds maintenance contract, act as the first point of contact for councillors and communities, and support the delivery of high-quality green space services across the borough.
Responsibilities:
* Act as the first point of contact for councillors and communities, responding professionally to enquiries and concerns relating to green spaces
* Manage and monitor the Grounds Maintenance Contract and other associated maintenance contracts
* Line manage the Green Spaces Monitoring Officer to ensure effective contract delivery and follow-up site inspections
* Carry out site visits to validate complaints, concerns, and service delivery issues
* Support the delivery of the Green Spaces Service Delivery Plan in line with strategic objectives
* Work closely with internal and external partners including Surrey County Council, Surrey Police, and the Environment Agency
Essentials:
* Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle
* Experience managing contracts within landscape, grounds maintenance, or a related environment
* Management experience within a multi-disciplined public or private sector environment
* Strong administrative skills with experience working in a busy office environment
* Experience working with councillors, community groups, or residents to improve services
