The Role
We're looking for someone who can help the Supply Chain Manager put together, manage, and deliver the production schedule making sure it lines up with what customers need and what we can realistically produce. You'll take the lead on reporting how production is going, flag any issues, and work closely with the Central teams to make sure we're hitting our monthly targets, all while keeping an eye on what resources we've got to work with when planning ahead. You'll also team up with other departments to make sure materials and logistics are sorted and ready to keep everything running smoothly.
Duties
* Develop and manage delivery schedules and budgets for both internal and external operations, aligned with asset availability and spoilage expectations.
* Create and maintain a realistic production schedule, taking into account labour availability and engineering needs such as planned maintenance. Track performance against the plan and highlight recovery options where needed.
* Track actual production outputs to support WIP (Work in Progress) control and visibility.
* Maintain consistent communication with central planning and commercial teams to facilitate scenario-based planning as needed.
* Own and manage planning spreadsheets, ensuring alignment with Opt. Studio requirements and timelines.
* Set up work orders and manufacturing BOMs within Target and Opt. Studio systems, monitor progress through the workflow, and flag any issues or variances.
* Generate polymer and security feature schedules for procurement, including initiating material requests for contract-based work until full handover to purchasing.
* Gather, verify, and interpret planning-related data for use in reporting and strategic decision-making.
* Oversee trial activities by coordinating the end-to-end process and ensuring all documentation is in place before inclusion in the production schedule.
* Lead weekly and daily planning meetings, following up on outstanding actions and non-attendees.
* Prepare shipping documentation in alignment with forecasts and work with the shipping coordinator to ensure timely product dispatch.
Experience
* Proven experience in a comparable role within Production or Supply Chain Planning.
* Solid understanding of planning workflows, associated constraints, and familiarity with material control systems and planning tools.
* Background in a high-paced manufacturing setting; knowledge of printing production processes is a plus, though not essential.
* Proactive mindset with a forward-thinking approach - able to anticipate and raise potential issues before they escalate.
* Adaptable and flexible, comfortable working in a dynamic environment.
* GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent qualifications).
* Competent in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel. Experience in Excel-based planning and planning systems is highly desirable.
On Offer
* Salary - £39,000 - £43,000 (possibly higher for the right candidate)
* Working Pattern (hours and hybrid/onsite) - 36 hours, office based / onsite.
