We are looking for enthusiastic mental health support workers to join our amazing team, building strong relationships and fostering a warm, supportive, and rewarding environment to the children and young people in our care.
No two days are the same in this dynamic and fulfilling role! From planning engaging activities to providing one-on-one support,, each day presents new challenges and opportunities. As a mental health support worker, you’ll need to be adaptable, flexible, and skilled at reading situations to help guide young people towards making positive choices and build their independence.
For this role, whilst experience is preferred it is not necessary – if you have a positive, can-do attitude and the passion to make a real, meaningful difference to the lives of children and young people then this is the perfect role for you!
What We Offer:
* £12.69 - £13.31 per hour for day shifts, £14.94 for night shifts.
* A full two weeks of paid training before starting the role
* Overtime rate of x1.25
Our Shift Patterns:
Our shift patterns are based on a two-week rolling rota:
Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, and Sunday
Week 2: Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday
Day shifts:
8:00 AM – 8:30 PM
Night Shifts:
8:00PM – 08:30 AM
Key responsibilities include:
* Providing emotional support during challenging times
* Fostering ambition in young people, assisting them in achieving their goals and maximising their potential
* Offering support in the educational pursuits of young individuals
* Maintaining accurate records and preparing written reports for planning meetings, reviews or any other meetings as directed by the line manager.
* Empowering young people to actively participate in decision-making about their lives and future
* Acting as an advocate in meetings where the young person is the subject of discussion
* Encouraging community engagement, attending off-site activities, and expanding their personal social networks
* Meeting the needs of children and young people, organising social activities and maintaining the home (laundry, cooking, cleaning shopping etc.)
Qualifications/Experience/Requirements:
* Minimum age requirement: 21 years old
* Full UK driving license preferable but not essential
* No prior experience necessary, only a commitment and passion for working with young people
* Must have availability for sleep-in shifts
