Plant Manager – Skelmersdale (m/f/*)
The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As the Plant Manager for the Skelmersdale Manufacturing Plant, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world.
Here, you will make an impact by:
1. Champion a strong EHS/ESG culture and actively embrace the cultural elements.
2. Understand environmental discharge and emission obligations and footprint. Foster a culture of environmental stewardship.
3. Manage Risk and Compliance – Legal and Regulatory requirements, 3M Code of Ethics, 3M Standards
4. Represent the best interests of the plant both internally and externally (e.g. local authorities & communities)
5. Build strong and diverse capabilities and align resources with the long-term priorities and set peoples to success
6. Align and apply resources to achieve the relevant Plant development and Customer related priorities, including Technology implementation new product introductions.
7. Ensure appropriate performance through Responsiveness, Delivery, Quality, Product and Process understanding, Cost and Capacity management.
8. Define and deploy appropriate tactics to build a high-performance workforce, to execute capital and technology implementation, and for employee and leadership development.
9. Own and execute the plant tier management system for effective execution and Plant Improvement.
10. Adopt standard work for own role and champion for all employees for consistent execution and sustainable improvements.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
11. Master or comparable degree or equivalent
12. Significant experience in leading manufacturing plant operations is essential
13. Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
14. Strong leader, able to define, prioritize and execute near and long-term tactics for plant operations
15. Demonstrated effectiveness and efficiency in plant, division or other operations management roles responsible for multiple, complex value streams
16. Able to work collaboratively with Area and Global teams
17. Strong principle-based coaching and collaboration skills

18. In depth understanding of relevant health and safety regulations
19. The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
20. Strong organisational and planning skills to manage organisational change
21. Ability to develop, analyse and review numerical data to make decisions
