Venn Group are working with a school in Chelsea who are seeking a friendly, organised and professional Receptionist to support the front office function. This role is the first point of contact for visitors, parents, pupils and staff, and plays a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the school’s administrative operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Acting as the first point of contact at the school reception, welcoming visitors and managing sign-in procedures
* Answering and directing telephone calls in a professional and courteous manner
* Managing general email inboxes and responding to routine enquiries
* Supporting attendance administration, including recording late arrivals and absences
* Maintaining accurate pupil, staff and visitor records
* Liaising with parents, staff and external stakeholders as required
* Handling incoming and outgoing post and deliveries
* Providing general administrative support to the school office team
* Assisting with diary management, room bookings and meeting arrangements
* Ensuring safeguarding and health & safety procedures are followed at all times
Person Specification
* Previous experience in an administrative or receptionist role
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
* Confident using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
* Professional, calm and approachable manner
* Ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy environment
* Previous experience working in a school or educational setting
* Knowledge of school management systems (e.g. SIMS, Arbor or similar)
* Understanding of safeguarding procedures
* This role is subject to safeguarding checks, including an enhanced DBS check, in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education guidelines.
Location: Chelsea, London
Hours: Part-time, Wednesday - Friday, on-site
Pay Rate: £17 per hour
Contract: 6 weeks temporary
