Job: Assistant HGV Service Manager
Contract: Permanent
Based: Strood, Kent
Hours: 45 hours a week
Salary: £40k - £50k (depending on skills and experience)
We are excited to offer an excellent opportunity for a dedicated and driven Assistant HGV Service Manager to join our team at the Strood depot.
In this pivotal role, you will support the Workshop Manager and assist the Depot Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Service Department. You will be responsible for managing administrative functions, supervising workshop staff, and ensuring the highest standards of service delivery and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical support to both workshop staff and customers.
Liaise with customers to address enquiries, resolve invoice queries, and manage complaints effectively.
Review and approve service department costs to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Monitor and analyse key performance indicators, implementing corrective actions where necessary:
* MOT statistics
* DAFaid statistics
* Quality checks to meet DAF standards
* DAF KPIs
Essential Qualities
Strong technical expertise in HGV maintenance and repair.
Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships across all levels of the business.
Effective leadership skills with the ability to motivate and support workshop staff.
Excellent interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with customers, suppliers, and colleagues.
Self-motivated with a collaborative team spirit.
Resilient, with a proactive and positive approach to challenges.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage workload flexibly.
High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
