Responsibilities
* Assist with patient intake procedures, including collecting medical histories and recording vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
* Support clinical staff with basic medical procedures, medication administration under supervision, and wound care.
* Maintain accurate documentation using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, including ICD coding for diagnoses and procedures.
* Prepare examination rooms and assist during diagnostic procedures such as X-ray or ultrasound imaging.
* Support hospital medicine teams by monitoring patient status, updating charts, and communicating changes to the care team.
* Help coordinate patient flow in outpatient clinics, emergency departments, or specialty units like Geriatrics or PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit).
* Ensure compliance with safety protocols related to Basic Life Support (BLS), infection control, and hospital policies.
Skills
* Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology to effectively support clinical activities.
* Experience working in hospital settings with Level I or Level II trauma centers preferred; familiarity with emergency medicine protocols is a plus.
* Proficiency in using EHR systems for documentation and patient record management.
* Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically with diverse populations.
* Ability to perform vital signs measurement accurately and assist with medication administration safely.
* Knowledge of dermatology, internal medicine, geriatrics, medical-surgical care, and outpatient services enhances your versatility.
* Familiarity with hospital experience including ICU (Intensive Care Unit), OR (Operating Room), or radiology departments is advantageous.
