About the area
The Health, Safety and Wellbeing Directorate is responsible for aspects of health and safety for staff, students and other users of the University’s campuses and properties in the context of the Western Australia Work Health and Safety Act 2020 and the Workers Compensation and Injury Management Act 2023. This unit leads the University’s strategic intent to achieve and effectively maintain a safe and healthy working environment for all, and a culture that considers safety and health risk as part of all operational planning and delivery activities.
About the opportunity
* Support the development and implementation of health and wellbeing initiatives across the University, while consolidating and promoting existing resources available to staff.
* Use expertise and judgement to analyse and identify physical and psychological health priorities, and contribute to the development of programs, training, procedures and processes that improve employee wellbeing and reduce injury and illness.
* Provide injury prevention and management services, ergonomic and manual handling consultancies, and case management for injured employees, including those not covered by workers’ compensation.
About you
* Tertiary qualifications in a relevant allied health field (Physiotherapy, Exercise Physiology, Occupational Therapy, Psychology) or equivalent experience.
* Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing wellbeing programs within large organisations.
* Relevant experience in workers’ compensation claims management and injury management.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to consult and negotiate with stakeholders.
* Proficiency in a range of computing skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, internet, email, and website management.
