 
        
        Job Overview
The Quantity Surveyor will take commercial responsibility for major and complex projects in Solar, BESS, and HV Electrical systems (including ICP and EV infrastructure). The role involves end-to-end commercial management, ensuring profitability, cost control, and compliance with company and contractual standards.
Working closely with project managers and the commercial team, this position supports procurement, financial forecasting, risk management, and subcontract administration, while maintaining strong relationships with clients and the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
 1. Manage all post-contract commercial activities across multiple projects.
 2. Draft, review, and negotiate subcontract terms and conditions.
 3. Procure specialist services, major equipment, and materials.
 4. Lead cost and value reporting (CVR), ensuring accurate forecasting and profitability.
 5. Monitor project performance, risks, and contractual changes.
 6. Support cash flow forecasting, collection, and cost control.
 7. Provide commercial input to tenders and bids.
 8. Conduct regular commercial and progress reviews.
 9. Collaborate with project teams to deliver on time and within budget.
 10. Travel to sites as needed (occasional overnight stays).
Requirements
 11. Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management (RICS desirable).
 12. Proven experience in engineering, utilities, construction, or rail sectors.
 13. Hands-on experience with NEC3/4, FIDIC, and/or JCT contracts.
 14. Strong knowledge of Civils and/or HV works (one essential).
 15. Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
 16. Proficient in commercial and financial reporting.
 17. Valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
