About the role
We are seeking to appoint a Chief Financial Officer and Governance Lead, who will also act as Company Secretary, to oversee the financial operation of Broadoak Primary School, an Outstanding Single Academy Trust with 480 pupils and approximately 60 staff.
Responsibilities
• Manage the financial affairs of the school, ensuring resources are used effectively to support the success of all pupils.• Provide cover for the School Business Manager and assist with financial tasks as required.• Work closely with the Headteacher to contribute to the shared vision and values of the school.• Develop and maintain sound financial and business practices, ensuring compliance with the Academies Handbook.• Identify and mitigate financial risks and develop robust financial plans.• Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, both within and outside the organisation.
Qualifications
• Proven track record of financial management in the education sector or a similar environment.• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to mitigate risks.• Strong budget management and accounting system knowledge.• Exceptional organisational, communication and IT skills.• Ability to work as part of a team, be diplomatic, self‑reliant and self‑motivated, with minimal supervision.• A professional accountancy qualification is ideal but not essential for the right candidate.
