Purpose of Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Public Enquiry Officer to act as a direct point of contact between Kent Police and members of the public. This is a highly visible customer-facing role requiring professionalism, integrity, and excellent communication skills.
Job Description
You will provide high-quality customer service while dynamically risk assessing and responding appropriately to a wide range of enquiries, complaints, and sensitive situations. The role is fast-paced and varied, often dealing with unpredictable circumstances while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to data protection and disclosure protocols.
Responsibilities
•Represent Kent Police as the first point of contact for members of the public, both in person and via enquiries
•Deliver excellent customer service in line with organisational values
•Dynamically assess risk and respond appropriately to sensitive or complex situations
•Handle enquiries and complaints calmly, professionally, and with integrity
•Give and receive information, offering advice and guidance where appropriate
•Accurately record details and update systems in line with procedures
•Maintain confidentiality and comply with data protection legislation
Essential Qualifications/Skills
•Strong customer service and communication skills
•Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging or unpredictable situations
•Good IT and data entry skills
•Strong attention to detail and accuracy
•Ability to work independently and as part of a team
•Flexible and reliable, with the ability to work weekends as required
