Reading Borough Council is an innovative authority delivering safeguarding practice, led by a committed leadership team. We are seeking a motivated Social Worker in Adult Social Care with experience in safeguarding.
As a Social Worker for Reading Borough Council you will be part of a friendly and supportive service. The role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with colleagues, young adults and health care providers.

Responsibilities
* Screen safeguarding concerns and undertake section 42 enquiries.
* Demonstrate a robust understanding of risk and the various kinds of harm and abuse to which a person might be at risk.
* Work within the legal framework provided by statute, guidance, policies and procedures.
* Involve the person in safeguarding activity and provide evidence of how this has been achieved.
* Collaborate with Reading Borough Council colleagues, health professionals, and voluntary/charity partners to achieve the best outcomes for those supported.
* Develop and reflect on your own continued professional development through formal training and vocational activities.
Qualifications
* A degree or equivalent in Social Work
* Registration with Social Work England
* Understanding of the Care Act 2014 and related safeguarding legislation
