Overview
Solicitor or Equivalent (Clinical Negligence Grade B - Southport) – Hybrid working in Southport. This role is with Fletchers Group and focuses on managing clinical negligence casework with a proactive, client-focused and commercially aware approach.
Responsibilities
* Accountable for running an individual caseload.
* Provide support, guidance, and assistance to the team to deliver outstanding service to clients.
* Contribute to proactive and commercial case management and progression across the team.
* Support the Team Leader/Head of Department in ensuring the delivery of the team’s financial and performance KPIs.
* Effective and thorough time recording.
* Discuss and agree case tactics and planning with the Team Leader/Head of Department and team members.
* Identify and drive cases ready for LOC, settlement, and service within the team.
* Collaborate to collect and collate information to enable case progression.
* Manage a caseload in a proactive commercial manner.
* Coordinate progression of cases with internal and external parties.
* Draft legal documentation including LOC and letters of instruction.
* Negotiate settlements and issue and service of proceedings as required.
* Litigate claims as required.
* Oversee documentation and correspondence produced by the team.
* Advise the team on technical issues arising from cases with support from the Team Leader/Head of Department.
Qualifications and Ideal Candidate
* Recent experience of handling a caseload.
* 5+ years PQE or equivalent experience in Clinical Negligence.
* Excellent organisational and time management skills.
* Excellent communication and drafting skills.
* Excellent IT skills, especially Microsoft Office, Proclaim and Excel.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Strong commercial awareness within a legal environment.
* Ability to work well with junior team members, providing coaching and mentoring.
* Flexible and willing to commit to achieving results and meeting deadlines.
* Excellent client care skills.
