Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Assistant Financial Controller to join our finance team.
General Scope and Purpose
The Assistant Financial Controller will be responsible for supporting the Regional Finance Controller and ensure financial integrity within the hotel. Working closely with the hotel General Manager and corporate finance team to achieve financial objectives, maintain compliance, and support overall business goals.
About the role
This is a hands-on, commercially focused finance position where you will support the day-to-day management of the hotel's financial operations, reporting and compliance.
You will work closely with operational leaders, providing insight and analysis that supports budgeting, forecasting and performance improvement.
Key responsibilities include:
* Supporting budgeting and rolling forecast processes
* Producing weekly and monthly financial reporting and variance analysis
* Assisting with month-end reporting packs including P&L, balance sheet and revenue reports
* Supporting accounts payable and receivable processes to ensure accuracy and timely processing
* Monitoring debtors and creditors to maintain healthy cash flow
* Reviewing costs and highlighting opportunities for improved efficiencies
* Supporting payroll cost control alongside hotel management
* Assisting with audit preparation and compliance requirements
* Collaborating with department heads to provide meaningful financial insight
* Supporting ad hoc projects and financial analysis as required
Occasional travel within the hotel cluster may be required to support audits, financial reviews and meetings.
What we are looking for:
* Experience within a finance role, ideally in hospitality
* Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
* Confidence working with operational managers and senior stakeholders
* Good understanding of budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting
* A proactive and organised approach
* Strong IT skills and experience using finance systems
