What You’ll Do
As the Blaster Helper, you will assist the Blaster in Charge and Blast Crew during drilling, loading, and blasting operations.
This opportunity would be ideal for someone who is interested in long‑term professional growth in the field of Drilling & Blasting. Some duties will include:
* Provide manual labor support on the blast site including loading blast holes and shoveling crushed stone or carrying buckets of crushed to blast holes
* Assist the Blaster in Charge to safely serve the customer
* Complete necessary paperwork including daily safety checks, bills of lading for transporting dangerous goods, logbook, pre & post trip inspections
* Follow all safety procedures and maintain safe working conditions in the shop, while operating mobile equipment, and while on blast sites to protect personal safety and the safety of others
What We’re Looking For:
* Minimum high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
* Prior manual labor experience preferred
* Ability to read, write and speak English and to communicate in written and verbally
* Ability to work primarily outdoors in all weather conditions.
* Must be able to wear personal protective equipment where required.
* Required to lift up to 25 Kg’s.
* Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and a team player
