Overview of the Role
The Senior Safety Case Engineer will work on nuclear power generation, the naval nuclear programme, and decommissioning projects. The position offers strong career progression opportunities within a dynamic and growing team.
Key responsibilities include:
* Developing and producing safety case documents (e.g., SJP, PCSR, PCmSR, PRS)
* Submitting modification and design change submissions (LC/AC 22)
* Assisting with decommissioning activities
* Performing functional safety assessments
* Managing regulatory interface
* Conducting ALARP assessments
* Delivering safety & risk assessments, deterministic and probabilistic safety assessments
* Applying nuclear safety legislation, regulation and policy
* Providing engineering substantiation and HAZOP/HAZAN studies
* Addressing criticality and nuclear fire concerns
Candidate Specification
* Degree qualified in a science, technology or engineering discipline
* Experience in the nuclear or defence industries (or other high‑hazard regulated sectors)
* Chartered Engineer status or working towards it
* Proven track record delivering nuclear safety deliverables on complex projects
* Willingness to mentor junior colleagues
* Eligible to obtain a Security Clearance
