The Role and the people you will support

You will be joining a dedicated team of Support Practitioners providing support to 10 individuals within a twenty-four-hour housing support service in Bridgeton. The people we support have learning disabilities and other complex health and support needs; with a focus on maintaining and promoting independence, as a Support Practitioner, you will work in a person-centred way to provide support in all aspects of daily living, including personal care, cooking and helping them to take care of their home.

The ladies we support enjoy nothing more than a good pamper session by having their nails done and getting a massage. They also enjoy going out for a spot of lunch followed by some shopping, attending the ARC club and one of our ladies goes to a writing class once a week.

The gentlemen also enjoy getting out and about going on day trips further afield to places like Dundee or Edinburgh. When not out exploring, they enjoy going to parties and events within the local community.

To be a great Support Practitioner, you will be:

1. a naturally empathetic person with a warm, friendly personality

4. a problem-solver and able to think on your feet and use your initiative
5. competent in the use of technology to enhance the support you provide
