Offer description

The opportunity has arisen to help shape the future of space at the University of Bath. At a time when the University is seeking to set down foundations for its future success, it has become imperative to address how it uses its existing space to support and strengthen its activities. This needs to align with and support our approach to sustainability - with a focus on efficiency, performance, resilience and experience. We are therefore seeking to appoint an Interim Head of Space Strategy, Planning and Delivery Coordination to help drive its ambitious space 'change' programme. About the role The University has identified 'space management, planning and change' as a key pillar of its strategic priorities for the next 5 years and is looking to identify ways to deliver greater space utilisation, improve the quality and attractiveness of its spaces and create a culture which recognises the importance and value of space. This role is based in the Space and Sustainability team (within the VC Office) and will work with faculties and divisions across the University, in particular Campus Infrastructure and Campus Services. As well as addressing the physical space needs, the role will look at the workplace cultural strategies needed to meet our space objectives. About you The ideal candidate is an individual who brings demonstrable experience in planning and delivering space programmes. You will have: developed policies to guide how space is managed and used; established the means to collect, analyse and present management information to inform decision making on space issues; created the culture for improved space use; identified key interventions which align to institutional priorities and deliver improvements. You will be able to draw on past experience and knowledge of space practices and space design, to help foster more innovative approaches to the use of spaces. You will also be used to working in small teams and using your networks to help drive projects and initiatives forward.
