Job ref – 10/Ayr/CC Job Advert- Personal Assistant Location – Ayr Pay Rate £12.60 per hour plus 5.6 weeks AL Pro Rata Hours: - 7 Hours per week. To support a young man with cerebral palsy and a learning disability. He lives with family. He is looking for help to accessing the local community. For social aspects like, going the to gym, cinema and out for coffee. He can walk short distances; he has a wheelchair but he re reluctant to use it. He has limited speech also. Looking for someone who could work along side the family to build his confidence. Skills An interest in people and a commitment to helping others The ability to communicate clearly and sensitively with vulnerable people and their families. A knowledge of the emotional and practical difficulties a person may face Good listening skills An empathetic approach to people The ability to gain the trust of people and their families and to build good relationships.
