MVM Group is seeking a disciplined, high‑energy Logistics Route Planner to join our fast‑paced operations centre. This role is central to our high‑end and corporate vehicle movement division. You will be responsible for the strategic scheduling of driven deliveries, managing a national pool of self‑employed Vehicle Chauffeurs. Working within a high‑pressure environment, you will be supported by a planning admin team, allowing you to focus on the mechanical efficiency of the routes. Your objective is to maximise chauffeur productivity (targeting 2–4 movements per day) while adhering to client SLAs and minimising public transport dead‑time.
Main Responsibilities
* High‑Volume Route Planning: Orchestrate daily vehicle movements, balancing complex logistics to ensure wheel‑turning time is maximised across the chauffeur pool.
* SLA Management: Ensure every movement meets rigorous corporate client requirements and delivery windows.
* Chauffeur Coordination: Act as the primary contact for chauffeurs, allocating jobs and resolving real‑time transit or scheduling issues.
* Cost Optimisation: Plan efficient transfers between jobs to reduce reliance on expensive public transport routes.
* Collaboration: Work alongside the planning admin team to ensure all documentation and system updates are handled with precision.
Criteria
* Experience: Demonstrable or previous experience in a logistics planning or transport allocation role is required (2 years preferred).
* Technical Proficiency: Competent in IT. Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Citrix environments is a distinct advantage.
* Communication: Professional, authoritative and empathetic telephone manner. Manage self‑employed contractors effectively while maintaining positive professional relationships.
* Attributes: Proactive, highly organised, capable of maintaining logical consistency under significant pressure.
Preferred Qualifications
* Knowledge: Strong understanding of the UK road network and national public transport infrastructure.
* Sector Specifics: 12+ months in vehicle movement (trade plate or corporate) planning.
* Field Experience: Previous experience as a professional driver or Vehicle Chauffeur.
* Licensing: Full UK Driving Licence.
