As our new System Administrator, your primary responsibilities include guiding the overall operation and configuration of the customer-facing software environment, including performing day-to-day administration and maintenance. This position will also work with a team of IT professionals responsible for the maintenance, growth, and security of our production and non-production environments. The System Administrator is responsible for handling escalated issues and projects and driving a forward-thinking approach to systems architecture. We are looking for a person who is committed, dependable, excels in problem-solving, and maintains a strong sense of urgency. This is a hybrid opportunity based out of Port Talbot.
Key Responsibilities as a System Administrator:
1. Advanced Server System Administration
2. Design, configure, and manage domain and policy settings.
3. Install system software and coordinate server connectivity.
Security Management
1. Manage ACLs, User IDs, Groups, and other security functions.
2. Develop, maintain, and enforce company security policies.
System and Network Performance Monitoring
1. Monitor system and network performance.
2. Identify and troubleshoot software problems.
Documentation and Standards
1. Create and maintain documentation on existing systems and processes.
2. Lead efforts to establish and implement software installation standards.
Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity
1. Support implementation of disaster recovery processes.
2. Provide on-call technical support during non-business hours.
Qualifications:
* 3+ years in configuring, supporting, and troubleshooting software systems (Linux OS, Microsoft Server 2019 or newer, SQL Server).
* Experience with Hypervisor solutions (VMWare, Hyper-V, ProxMox) and Web Application Servers (Apache, Nginx, IIS, Tomcat, WebLogic, JBoss).
* Knowledge of AIX, Active Directory, Cisco/F5 networking equipment, Check Point firewalls, and SoftwareAG webMethods.
* Strong understanding of file transfer protocols (FTP, sFTP, AS2), communication protocols, internet/network security, and authentication.
