Overview
The Podiatry Service at Wirral Community Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust (WCHC) seeks a dynamic, motivated and experienced HCPC registered podiatrist to join our committed and friendly team. You will work as part of our diabetic foot protection team providing timely interventions to a high-risk diabetic caseload including the assessment and management of complex foot ulceration. You will also provide education and training sessions to other professionals and take responsibility for the delivery of diabetic foot screening training to practice nurses on a rolling programme.
Responsibilities
* Work as part of the diabetic foot protection team to assess and manage high-risk diabetic patients, including complex foot ulceration.
* Provide education and training sessions to other professionals; deliver diabetic foot screening training to practice nurses on a rolling programme.
* Support and supervise podiatry assistants and students within the team.
* Develop and maintain effective working relationships with GPs, nursing colleagues and other healthcare professionals.
* Utilise a range of clinical systems with good IT skills; participate in a structured induction, ongoing training and CPD opportunities.
* Contribute to service delivery across community clinics, hospital sites, nursing homes and domiciliary settings as required.
Qualifications and Skills
* HCPC registered podiatrist.
* Experience of managing high-risk diabetic patients, preferably in an MDT setting.
* Post-graduate studies/qualifications relevant to the role.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with clinicians and colleagues.
* Strong IT skills and ability to work across multiple clinical systems; willingness to engage in CPD and personal development.
* Own transport for work purposes due to diverse work locations (community clinics, hospital sites, nursing homes, domiciliary settings).
