ABC Teachers is looking for skilled SEN Classroom Support to join a specialist SEN School in Birmingham on a full-time basis. About the role: Develop strong, professional relationships with the pupils to understand their range of complex needs and how best to assist them in school. Ability to work confidently with students with a range of Social, Emotional or Mental Health (SEMH) needs from years 7 to 9. Prepare the classroom for learning and assist the class teacher with the delivery of planned lessons. Assess and monitor student’s progress, using assessments from their home schools and robust baseline diagnosis, aiming to reduce the impact of their medical conditions on their educational outcomes. Work with both small groups and 1:1 with students when required. Encourage student participation and performance. Full time position available for an immediate start, with potential for ongoing work for the right candidate. About the school: The school supports people in years 7-9 who haven’t been able to access mainstream education for reasons relating to their SEMH needs. Has smaller class sizes, allowing for learning to be tailored based on individual pupils’ abilities, interests and needs.
