Procurement Manager – IT Categories within the Public Sector - open to candidates from Private Sector
Salary: Up to £88,000 + benefits
Location: Mostly remote (80%) - with occasional travel onsite to client location where required
We are seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to take ownership of IT category spend within a complex, regulated public sector environment.
While a public sector background is ideal, we are open to strong private sector candidates with clear, demonstrable experience delivering IT cost savings.
The Role:
This is a strategic, business-partnering role where you will:
* Lead end-to-end procurement and sourcing activity across IT categories (software, hardware, cloud, infrastructure, services)
* Develop and deliver IT category strategies aligned to organisational objectives
* Act as a trusted business partner to senior stakeholders, influencing decisions and driving value
* Identify and implement cost savings opportunities and efficiencies across suppliers
* Manage supplier performance, contract lifecycles, governance and compliance
About You:
* Proven experience in IT procurement with clear evidence of cost savings delivered (our client is looking for this to be clear in CV)
* Strong stakeholder management, able to influence and challenge senior IT leaders
* Experience with strategic sourcing, complex negotiations and supplier management
* Comfortable operating in regulated, matrixed organisations
* Public sector experience is desirable but not essential if commercial and cost-saving experience is strong
