Year 1 Primary Teacher Responsibilities: Plan and deliver high‑quality lessons in line with the KS1 National Curriculum (Years 1). Teach core subjects English, Maths and Science. Help children understand key principles and develop reading, writing and mathematical skills. Using assessment data to track progress and prepare pupils for KS1 statutory assessments. Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of individual pupils (SEND, EAL, SEMH). Collaborate with colleagues such as SENCO, teaching assistants and SLT. Communicate effectively with parents and carers about progress and wellbeing. Maintain accurate records, reports, and assessment data. Contribute to school initiatives, staff meetings, and extracurricular activities. Year 1 Primary Teacher Requirements: Hold a degree with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent qualification. Clear understanding of assessment frameworks, including statutory assessments. Knowledge of effective teaching strategies to support pupil progress. Understand and uphold safeguarding, child protection, and inclusion.
