About the school and role
This friendly primary school in the Rochdale area is seeking to appoint a caring and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant. Ideally you will possess previous experience within a similar role to this as it is a challenging role due to the nature of the requirements. The desired SEND Teaching assistant will be working 1-1 with a child and must have a genuine passion for supporting children with special education needs to help develop their emotions and provide strategies to eliminate triggers.
Key responsibilities
Encourage students to interact with their peers and engage in group work
Working 1-1 and in small groups with students with Special Educational Needs
Prepare materials that will cater to the individual needs of the child
Requirements
The requested skillset the desired Mental Health Support Assistant will require;
Be very resilient and ability to adapt due to the nature of the role.
Encourage the students to interact with their peers and engage in group work.
Be patient and flexible as no day is the same.
Will have recent experience working with children in similar roles.
Have a genuine desire to become part of a committed team of educational professionals.
