WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites
About This Opportunity
Our Client Servicing & Engagement Platform will deliver the next generation digital bank for clients, which is mobile first and data led. By simplifying and automating journeys, clients will receive a better experience, and colleagues will be enabled to spend more time helping clients to grow their business.
The Payments & Engagement Lab is one of four labs in the Client Service and Engagement Platform established under our Platform 2.0 banner. The Platform delivers change across digital systems that support business clients.
The Lab is responsible for 2 major areas; Domestic and International Payments (non Complex) & Engagement (Account overview, Push Notifications, Help & Support and Digi Inbox). The Lab comprises of technicians and change delivery specialists who lead and deliver change in an iterative manner.
As Lab Product Owner you’ll be a passionate, inspiring, customer-centric leader and be responsible for the business leadership of delivery. You'll be responsible for end-to-end delivery to customers and colleagues with the main goal of realising value for by ensuring that the teams are solving the right problems. This is achieved by building collaborative, empowered teams, nurturing them to take ownership of the relevant outcomes, whilst stimulating innovation and mitigating risk by encouraging data driven test and learn activities.
You'll operate as a leader who harvests a culture where colleagues are trusted, encouraged and supported to be bold and brave releasing colleagues’ full potential whilst growing and attracting quality talent.
The role will work alongside the Lab Engineering Lead in shaping the vision and centre on setting the strategic direction for the teams to release a complete product or service.

1. Ensure that the team is working on the right set of business problems ("building the right things"), to credibly interface to the business community and to relentlessly focus on delivering value for our customers.
2. Prioritise and balance the needs of the initiatives, partners and risk. Maintaining a refined backlog, targeting efficient delivery focused on value and providing transparency to all interested parties.
3. Communication and engagement with the relevant communities, including senior Exec on benefits delivery will be a key skill.
4. Build a committed leadership team and hold overall responsibility for growing the capabilities of a large or diverse workforce through investment in own and others’ training and development.
5. Creating an environment in which people bring out the best in themselves by providing autonomy and ensuring they feel safe to experiment.
6. As the product owner you'll work in collaboration with the business and engineering community to drive and embed agile ways of working, and support the prioritisation of modern engineering practices to achieve long term business outcomes.
7. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements by collaborating with all internal risk management functions and supporting the LBG compliance policy.
8. Shape the overall Product Vision in conjunction with Product Manager in the business.
What You’ll Need

As the face of the Lab and accountable for delivering the Lab’s Outcomes, you’ll require a unique combination of digital servicing experience and change delivery expertise. Therefore as a minimum to apply we need to see:
9. Excellent communication, people management, influencing and presentation skills, as well as experience working with technical and multi-functional teams to deliver change
10. Significant knowledge and experience of change management for business clients
11. An inspiring, strategic problem solver with a passion for creating outstanding customer experiences
12. Financial management capabilities to deliver budget.
13. Take ownership for products or product elements, understand how they work and optimise them to better serve the needs of the client, colleague, or bank. Uses storytelling to articulate the product vision and has the ability to manage a backlog and prioritise items appropriately.
14. Ability to create an outstanding team environment that attracts and retains talent.
15. Stakeholder Management - Manage and resolve conflicts between collaborators, and to ensure the right people involved or impacting their work have a joint understanding and expectation of the work, what is happening, the implications and crucially their role in making it successful.
16. Provide an exceptional customer experience, and to resolve customer problems effectively; using a customer first lens to understand and listen to them, supporting their banking needs in a multidisciplinary way.
17. Work with a Platform 2.0 agile approach and within agile methodologies to drive pace and adaptability in the delivery of value.
And Any Experience Of These Would Be Really Useful
18. Previous experience in Digital with Payments or Account Servicing knowledge.
19. Experience of enhancing agile practices with a proven understanding of the end to end software development lifecycle and having worked heavily with software engineers in the past.
