Overview
BAE are seeking an Engineer specialising in Product Integrity and DSEAR (Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations) to join the Safety & Environmental Engineering team. This role will provide technical leadership and support to ensure compliance with DSEAR requirements across site and facilities.
You will play a key role in delivering risk assessments, guiding compliance activities, and supporting the Engineering Delivery Manager in maintaining high standards of product safety.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
1. Deliver site and facility DSEAR risk assessments.
2. Review and approve technical documentation relating to DSEAR compliance.
3. Provide expert guidance on DSEAR compliance to site and facilities.
4. Support programme status reporting, identifying risks and implementing recovery plans
5. Conduct DSEAR technical risk assessments for facilities, redevelopment projects, and site-related activities.
6. Review and approve risk assessments for existing and new facilities.
7. Develop and maintain documentation, including principles, processes, and project deliverables.
8. Provide training, mentoring, and technical guidance on DSEAR.
9. Lead workshops, risk cells, and working groups on explosion safety.
10. Support regulatory inspections and ensure compliance with SHE (Safety, Health, Environment) standards.
11. Coordinate team work programmes to achieve DSEAR objectives.
12. Contribute to the development of junior engineers within the team.
Knowledge and Skills
13. Experience in explosion safety engineering and hazard analysis.
14. Strong understanding of DSEAR risk assessment and Hazardous Area Classification (HAC).
15. Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.).
16. Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
