About The Role Cost Controller Permanent, Full-time Inchinnan (Glasgow) or Westhill (Aberdeen) with hybrid working About The Company JFD Global is the world leading underwater capability provider, serving the commercial and defence markets with innovative diving, submarine and hyperbaric rescue, technical solutions and services. The Role We are seeking a Cost Controller to work alongside project managers on innovative and large-scale projects across various product lines, including commercial and defence diving. The purpose of this role is to ensure there is accurate and timely reporting of the financial performance of long-term projects and services. This includes robust challenge of costs to drive continuous cost improvement. You will be responsible for implementing Cost Management best practices and applying this consistently across all projects, to proactively identify cost variances and risk areas and mitigations to project managers, and to assist in the delivery of project & customer requirements in a cost-effective manner. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with project managers to ensure they understand the financial performance of their respective projects and assist in communicating this to the wider business as required. Principle Accountabilities Prepare detailed project cost baseline, project revenue budget and regular EAC reforecasts in collaboration with the Project Team and present the information to stakeholders as required. Perform Value of Work Done (VOWD) assessments through project life, compare to planned progress, identify and mitigate slippage and escalate issues to management. Conduct cost variance analysis and sensitivity analysis and identify opportunities, risks and mitigations where available to the project manager. Ensure costs are correctly allocated to cost accounts/work orders, review correct coding of requisitions, purchase orders, contracts, invoices, variations, reconciling costs and investigating variances. Facilitate and participate in lessons learnt sessions on project delivery and feedback to the responsible functions to ensure these are captured and acted upon to improve future project delivery. Assist project planning in defining and maintaining detailed Work Breakdown Structures. Other relevant duties/task as assigned by Financial Controller. Qualifications, Skills And Experience Proven track record in a similar role (e.g. Lead Project Cost Engineer, Cost Controller etc.) and industry (e.g. engineering or manufacturing) Intermediate user of Microsoft Excel Experience of ERP systems (e.g. Glovia, SAP, Oracle etc.) Excellent analytical review skills Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time Strong communication skills Attention to detail Ability to obtain SC level clearance If this sounds like the ideal next step in your career, then click ‘apply’ now!
