Five Education is supporting a mainstream primary school near Peasedown St John as they search for a kind and compassionate 1:1 learning support assistant. This full-time role is ideal for someone who has previously worked closely with children with SEND, and who is looking to make a meaningful impact in a nurturing school environment. You will be supporting a child on a 1:1 basis, helping them access learning and feel safe, understood and valued. The ideal candidate will be confident, patient, and committed to building a trusting and consistent relationship with the student. Main Responsibilities: • Provide 1:1 support to a child with SEND, tailoring your approach to meet their individual needs • Help the student access classroom learning and stay engaged • Work closely with teaching staff and the SENCo to follow and adapt support strategies • Support the child with social interaction, emotional regulation and confidence building • Ensure the child's safety and well-being during all parts of the school day, including break and lunch Essential Criteria: • Patient, resilient and confident managing challenging behaviour • Able to work full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30-15:30 (term-time only) • Right to work in the UK - we cannot offer sponsorship or accept Skilled Worker visas • Able to provide two recent references (covering the last two years) • Hold a current DBS check on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one* *Please note, if you do not have a Non-Voluntary Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, we will need to help you process a new one at a cost of £62.70.
