SALARY: £27,779 per annum (Actual) Benefits LOCATION: Hedge End, Southampton, Hampshire JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent WORKING HOURS: 37 hours per week Monday to Friday, 52 weeks per year (actual working hours to be confirmed) JOB OVERVIEW We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a highly committed, enthusiastic and energetic School Premises Manager / Site Facilities and Maintenance Supervisor with previous experience in a site management role or similar, who has handyperson / trade skills such as basic plumbing, carpentry and painting / decorating. As the School Premises Manager / Site Facilities and Maintenance Supervisor you will manage a new school site, ensuring operational effectiveness whilst carrying out day to day maintenance tasks and overseeing site security and cleaning. The role is varied and as the School Premises Manager / Site Facilities and Maintenance Supervisor you will have responsibility for Health & Safety systems, building maintenance, overseeing the site security, cleaning, record keeping, moving and handling of objects and deliveries, working at height and grounds maintenance. Basic literacy and numeracy and IT/computer skills are essential for this role.Job specific training will be provided if required. DUTIES Ensure Site Security: Maintain the security of the school buildings and grounds, liaising with staff and contractors as required Oversee Cleaning and Maintenance: Supervise and engage in the cleaning and upkeep of the premises Carry Out Repairs: Undertake minor repairs, maintenance and decorating tasks as needed Manage Contractors: Act as main point of contact for cleaners and contractors working on site Monitor Health and Safety: Carry out checks and maintain records in line with statutory H&S requirements (e.g. COSHH, legionella, fire alarms) Support Site Use: Liaise with the Headteacher on lettings and community use of facilities Respond to Emergencies: Hold key holder responsibilities and attend out-of-hours callouts when required Teamwork and Communication: Work flexibly and collaboratively with colleagues, maintaining good communication Grounds Care: Help maintain outdoor spaces and play areas to a high standard CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS Previous site experience in a similar role, such as site management / facilities manager / building and maintenance is essential Handyperson / trade skills such as basic plumbing, carpentry and painting or decorating Good supervisory / leadership skills Excellent communication skills Basic literacy and numeracy skills Good IT/computer skills Committed, enthusiastic and energetic Ability to work at height and carry out physical tasks such as moving furniture Experience of working in schools is desirable BENEFITS Friendly and sociable colleagues Staff membership rates to the modern Leisure Centre Enrolment in one of the UKs Largest public sector pension schemes A tax efficient Cycle-to-Work scheme through salary sacrifice The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
