Senior Commissioning Officer – Children’s
City of Wolverhampton Council is seeking a Senior Commissioning Officer – Children’s to join our Children’s Services Commissioning Team.
Salary – Grade 8 (£52,413 – £56,730)
Hours – 37 hrs per week · Contract type – full time permanent · Work style – Flexible: working from home with 2 days in a council location
Responsibilities
* Ensure evidence‑based, high quality and cost‑effective commissioning of services.
* Provide operational management to the commissioning team as directed by the Service Manager for Commissioning.
* Support the development and lead the implementation of the Council’s market position statement and sufficiency strategy.
* Ensure effective oversight of the market through the use of contract information and collaboration with market providers to ensure sufficiency of provision.
* Work with internal and external partners to develop deliverable specifications for the delivery of high‑quality services and ensure effective mobilisation of new services.
* Ensure effective communication through the delivery of high‑quality reports, informal briefings and presentations.
* Support the development of strategies for the delivery of services to improve outcomes for residents, working with a range of partners to investigate and develop innovative delivery models.
* Take lead responsibility for promoting co‑production and service user engagement.
The post holder will be required to work flexibly in response to the needs of the service and will be subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
