Offer description

The Candidate is thrilled to be partnering with a leading beauty business, a premier distributor of professional haircare brands, as they seek a visionary Director of Ecommerce & Marketing. This pivotal role is an exciting opportunity to drive significant digital transformation and accelerate B2B growth within the thriving professional beauty industry.

This company is renowned for more than just distributing innovative, salon-exclusive products; they empower salons with essential tools, comprehensive education, and robust digital support to foster sustainable growth in a highly competitive market. As such, they're looking for a senior leader to elevate their brand presence and spearhead their digital initiatives.

The Role

The Director of Ecommerce & Marketing will be responsible for the strategic development and execution of all digital, ecommerce, and marketing efforts across the business. This senior leadership position demands a professional who can create a seamless and engaging omnichannel experience for salon customers, significantly expand their digital footprint, and drive measurable growth in revenue and brand equity.

Key Responsibilities:

Ecommerce Leadership: The successful candidate will own and optimise their ecommerce platform (Shopify or similar), ensuring a frictionless B2B customer journey. This includes leading the roadmap for digital development, focusing on UX/UI improvements, functionality, and crucial CRM integration. Collaboration with operations and supply chain teams will be vital to align ecommerce systems with inventory and logistics, leveraging analytics and customer insights to drive personalisation, segmentation, and conversion optimisation.

Marketing Strategy & Brand Development: This role will lead the overall marketing strategy, encompassing digital, content, brand, social media, trade marketing, and all salon communications. The Director will be instrumental in positioning the company and its exclusive brands as market leaders, evolving the brand voice to ensure consistency across all platforms and campaigns, and overseeing content marketing strategies including video, email, social media, and educational materials for salons.

Digital Performance & Analytics: Managing and reporting on key performance metrics such as CAC, LTV, ROAS, AOV, and retention rates will be a core responsibility. The Director will oversee paid media strategy (PPC, paid social, SEO), working with either internal teams or external agencies, and utilise tools like GA4, Klaviyo, Meta, and Hotjar for continuous performance analysis and A/B testing.

Team Leadership & Cross-functional Collaboration: Leading and mentoring a growing team across ecommerce, content, and design will be crucial. The Director will work closely with sales, education, and brand teams to align on go-to-market strategies and product launches, and manage relationships with third-party digital agencies and partners.

Candidate Requirements:

This company is looking for a professional with proven senior experience in a B2B ecommerce and marketing leadership role, ideally within the beauty, haircare, or premium consumer goods sectors. Demonstrated success in scaling ecommerce performance, preferably on Shopify or similar platforms, is essential.

The ideal candidate will be a strong strategic thinker with hands-on capability in digital marketing and brand management, possessing a deep understanding of the salon professional landscape and experience marketing to hair professionals. They must be highly analytical and data-driven with strong commercial acumen, and have a proven track record of leading and building high-performing teams while managing cross-functional stakeholders. Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills are also paramount.

Preferred experience includes familiarity with salon distribution models and trade education programmes, experience working with exclusive or professional-only brands, and proficiency with tools such as Klaviyo, GA4, SEMrush, Shopify, and HubSpot.

Why Join?

Joining means becoming part of a fast-growing business that is redefining how salons interact with their suppliers. The successful candidate will work with ambitious brands, creative professionals, and a team passionate about beauty, education, and innovation. This is a unique opportunity to lead change and make a significant impact in the professional beauty industry.
