Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Head Chef to join our team at a renowned village pub. The ideal candidate will be passionate about culinary arts, possess excellent leadership skills, and have a strong background in kitchen operations.
Duties:
- Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff, ensuring high-quality food preparation and service
- Oversee all aspects of food production, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety
- Create innovative and appealing menu items while considering cost and quality
- Train and mentor kitchen staff on culinary techniques and best practices
- Manage inventory, ordering, and stock control to minimize waste and maximize efficiency
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations in the kitchen
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Chef in a busy restaurant environment
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively
- Proficient in various culinary techniques and cuisines
- Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting
- A culinary qualification or relevant certification is desirable
