As a Beneficiary Services Representative, you will provide beneficiary education and enrollment services for the TRICARE Overseas Program under the Defense Health Agency. You will assist eligible beneficiaries with education and enrollment, helping operate an integrated healthcare delivery system overseas. Under minimal supervision, serve as a TRICARE liaison for the beneficiary population. This role makes a difference for many military families!
PRIMARY DUTIES:
* Verify benefits eligibility and process enrollments, disenrollments, portability transfers using the Defense Online Enrollment System, Customer Relationship Manager systems, etc.
* Register TRICARE beneficiaries in the MHS Genesis system
* Perform Primary Care Manager changes following Military Treatment Facility guidelines
* Provide education on resources, benefits, and enrollment/disenrollment information via phone and in person
* Manage transfer information for active-duty and family member portability/disenrollment processes
* Conduct briefings for In Processing, Out Processing, Maternity, pre-separation/retirement, and others
* Assist with basic claims inquiries, such as claim status
* Record health information into systems
* Assess assistance levels needed and escalate issues as appropriate
* Report daily activity data
* Complete training and ensure HIPAA compliance and confidentiality
* Support remote BSRs at other sites and shadow new BSRs as needed
* Adhere to a business casual dress code
* Perform other duties as assigned
MINIMUM REQUIRED SKILLS:
* High school diploma or GED
* Must be SOFA/Command Sponsored as a dependent of an Active-Duty Service Member, DoD employee, or US Contractor supporting the DoD
* Must be a US Citizen
* Eligibility for and maintenance of ADP IT III / Non Sensitive Position, Tier 1
* Three years’ experience in:
o U.S. military healthcare delivery or civilian managed care environment
o Medical or clinical environment
o MHS Genesis or civilian healthcare computer systems and claims processing
o Customer service environment
DESIRED SKILLS:
* Fluency in English
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* Effective presentation skills
* Internet research proficiency
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office 2010 or later (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
* Ability to communicate tactfully on the phone and in person
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
* Strong organizational and time management skills
* Detail-oriented and capable of multitasking
* Knowledge of TRICARE Overseas programs, DEERS, DOES, and MHS Genesis
