About the role
As a Health Improvement Recovery Worker, you will provide vital health improvement support alongside our clinical partners. This includes helping to delivercommunity alcohol detoxes, conductinghome visits, and offeringongoing recovery support.
You’ll be a key player in engaging service users with recovery pathways, providing psychosocial interventions, and linking them to community-based resources that enhance health and wellbeing.
As a Health Improvement Recovery Worker, you will be responsible for:
1. Manage acaseload of service users and deliver a range ofpsychosocial interventions.
2. Workautonomously as well as collaboratively within amulti-disciplinary team.
3. Conductrisk assessments, recovery planning, and referrals to internal and external services.
4. Facilitategroup sessions tailored to the diverse needs of individuals in treatment.
5. Support clinical teams withcommunity alcohol detoxes, including follow-up visits.
6. Engage with at-risk clients as part of theReach team, focusing onBlood Borne Virus (BBV) testing and treatment referrals.
7. Distribute and providetraining on Naloxone to service users to support harm reduction.
About you
We are seeking someone who is:
8. Motivated, with a strong belief in the potential for recovery at any stage.
9. Experienced in supporting people with substance misuse issues, ideally with health improvement or detox-related work.
10. Skilled incommunication,risk management, and delivering person-centred support.
11. Confident facilitating groups and working independently in the community.
12. Comfortable with home visits and flexible in their approach to meet client needs.

Please note:
This is Dorset wide and will require some travel, this is a full time and permanent position which can be based in one of our three hubs in Weymouth, Wimborne or Gillingham.As part of the role, you will be responsible for the Harm Reduction vehicle, and therefore will require a clear full UK driving license.
