Role: Site based / on-site Service Engineer (Print / Photocopiers)
Location: Birmingham / Coventry
Company Overview:
We are actively seeking a skilled Photocopier engineer or a semi-skilled Service Engineer (FSE) with transferable skills from sectors such as EPOS, ATM, or IT Hardware. The role involves servicing and maintaining high-end, quality Photocopiers/MFDs to ensure customer satisfaction.
Role Purpose:
To maintain, repair, and provide technical support for managed print equipment, ensuring all devices are serviced in line with technical specifications and health and safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
* Respond to technical service calls at client sites, ensuring timely and efficient resolution of issues.
* Maintain accurate service records using PDA tools and communicate effectively with service coordination teams.
* Manage spare parts inventory to reduce repeat visits and ensure tools and technical documentation are up-to-date and in good condition.
* Maintain access to cloud-based documentation systems through regular synchronization of laptop tools.
* Ensure any company-provided vehicle is well-maintained, clean, and presentable.
* Submit accurate expense records and receipts within required timeframes.
* Participate in technical training, seminars, and online modules to stay current with product knowledge.
* Collaborate with internal departments to support efficient service delivery.
* Share technical insights and escalate issues appropriately to support customer satisfaction and equipment reliability.
Skills and Experience:
* Proven experience in servicing and repairing colour and monochrome MFP devices across various volumes.
* Basic networking skills, including installing print drivers and connecting devices to networks.
* Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities.
* Eligibility to obtain necessary Government and/or Police security clearance (without restrictions).
* Full UK driving licence.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
* Willingness to adhere to client-specific processes and procedures while on-site.
* Analytical mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
* Positive attitude and commitment to delivering high-quality customer service.
Package:
* Up to £28,208 - Monday to Friday only - sociable working hours
