Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor or Group Leader
Overview:
Employees at this level are expected to have developed expertise in machine maintenance and production equipment repairs. They install, maintain, and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic, mechanical, and electrical systems on all production equipment. They should be able to work independently in performing standard maintenance tasks.
Responsibilities:
1. Know all safety requirements, departmental and plant-wide.
2. Maintain departmental 5-S standards for assigned areas and equipment.
3. Complete required departmental paperwork, including work orders, PMs, and repair parts identification.
4. Perform advanced troubleshooting of all equipment using mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic skills.
5. Repair all production and non-production equipment.
6. Work on barrel heats, nozzle heaters, control wiring, and hard wiring.
7. Train to become a certified Arc Flash technician.
8. Ensure all utilities (Cooling Towers, Air Compressors, Dryers, Chillers) are operational for production start-up.
9. Train other technicians in proper repair procedures.
10. Work inside a scissor lift or articulating boom at heights up to 60 feet.
11. Read and interpret machine manuals, code books, schematics, and write part requisitions.
12. Read electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical schematics.
13. Possess basic to intermediate PLC experience.
14. Own tools and toolbox (KNA to provide tool list).
15. Follow lockout/tagout procedures per KNA policy.
16. Support quality and environmental policies and procedures.
17. Work according to instructions, policies, procedures, and management direction to meet customer requirements.
Education:
* High School diploma or GED.
* Ability to read and write English.
* Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide, percentages).
Experience:
* Four-year apprenticeship or eight years documented experience in the field.
Skills:
* Knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and practices in electrical or mechanical areas.
* Ability to detect defects and perform repairs or adjustments.
Physical Demands:
Frequent standing, walking, handling, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking, seeing, and hearing. Occasionally sitting. Frequently lift/move over 40 lbs.
Work Environment:
Exposure to moving mechanical parts, wet/humid conditions, heights, fumes, chemicals, weather, electrical shock risk, vibration. Noise levels are moderate to loud, within OSHA standards.
